The Yes Men

The most striking part about The Yes Men’s story was even though they’re ideas and presentations were ridiculous , the people they presented to believed them. They sat quietly throughout the time the Yes Men were speaking and actually listened and had questions about it. It was funny to me that people would sit through these ridicualous presentations and not question whether or not they were being serious.

Our individual responsibility for participation is making sure your voice is being heard. If you have an idea or question you should be confident enough to voice it even if it is a concern.  Also I think its everyones responsibility to know whats going on politically around the world.

Podcast

The format I chose was a quick time video. In my podcast i told a joke. I decided to do a video because of the software i had on the mac pc. It was really easy to use. You simply open up the video software, record and drag it to your videos. Then upload it on to youtube. It only took about five minutes to do. The technology we have in this time makes it really easy to do podcasts and other things like that.

little brother

I think little brother was a really good story. One of the most important ideas in the story was how the government kidnapped him and his friends. They gave them no rights and treated them like prisoners. They didnt get a fair trial or anything that constitutionally we are supposed to recieve. I also thought that the highschool had so much surveilance on the highschool kids. I think that you cant be a free person whenyou are being confined with technology. They literally cant leave the school grounds without an alarm or someone of authority finding out with the use of high-tech surveilance equipment.

Technology is an integral part of the everyday necessities in my life.Technology affects my life everyday. Whether it is using the internet or texting on my cell-phone, i use it all the time. The internet is one of the more important forms of technology for me. I use it everyday to either do research for school or for social networking. I keep in contact with my friends and family using the internet. It is very important to me. It is very convenient to use the internet to keep in contact with people because it is instant. Using aim and skyping is easy and you can talk with someone instantly without waiting for a response. The internet has the biggest search engines for research aswell. I use the internet all the time to find out facts.

Another way i use technology in my life is by using my cell-phone. Texting and talking on the phone is very easy and it is always available. Texting is a way to easily communicate with friends and family. It helps me keep in contact with them.

The other form of technology that i use in my life is my ipod. In fact the different devises that generate music have become the undercurrent of almost every part of my day. Whenever i am walking between classes or in my car my ipod is always playing. Listening to music on my ipod helps me to keep focused when im studying and also when i am working out.

Personally i do not use technology a whole lot.  but when i do the main source of technology that i do use is the internet.  You can connect and communicate with people half way across the world. It is how i kept in touch with my sister and other family members that live far away from me. E-mail is one of the easiest way to communicate with people using the internet. Your message is instantly sent to them with the push of one button. I also use the internet to find information on any subject. The internet is the best place to go to look something up and discover new facts. I also use my cellphone to connect with people. You can be anywhere in the world as long as you have a signal yu can dial anyones number and be talking to them within seconds. Text messaging has become popular also. It is a small message that you can send between two cell phones.  It is a fast and easy way to communicate a thought to someone with out the effort of pulling out your phone and talking out loud. television is the other source of technology i use in my life. It is a way to see what is going on in the world. television is one of the most important sources of technology. It is a way for people everywhere to connect with one another. Technology is used for various types of reasons but i believe the most important thing technology has given us is a way to connect with people all over the world

ideas for technology narrative

• texting- main use of communication with friends that i dont get to see everyday causeim so busy i dont have the time to sit down have a conversation with someone using the cell phone it is a lot easief to simply text somene and get an aswer back immediatley
• the internet- i use the internet for my main researching tool to find information like mapquest
• i use email to talk with my cousin who lives in georgia and other family members who live for from me i first set up an email account in 5th or 6th grade. use email for school
• communication has changed a lot in many ways the use of instant messaging and texting has gone way up
• keeping in contcact with friends is a lot easier using facebook and mysace. i think it is also a way to make friends but the internet is not always good

effects of games

Games can be positive and negative:

Violent games such as call of duty or Halo can have a negative effect on younger children. There is too much violence and it is for a more mature audience. Also sometimes a person can get obsessed with a certain game and it can be negative for them. They will spend all day in front of this game instead of going outside and exercising in the fresh air.

There are positive games as well. Some games can teach someone new things. If a ga,me is based on real events and real facts then it can be interesting and a fun way to learn something new. There are also games on, for example: Wii that have excercises for you to do in the game. These are a couple positive things about games.

Games are to entertain and we use them to have fun and lots of people ike to play them in there down time. You can play games with your friends and it is a way to relax and have fun.

what it means to be literate..

When you are literate it means you are able to read.It means you are educated. It includes thinking skills and being able to process information. Being able to do research and use the internet like email. In this time of day using digital equipment like cell phones and computers is included in being literate. You need the skills to comprehend information. Some basic level of familiarity with technology: a basic level of information. Connect new information with basic.not just understand factual information but the tools to understand the arguement or idea and be able to form your own opinion, idea and making your own arguments. Being able to make decisions . To make choices you have to have thebility to look at arguements and other opinions and decide based off of what you were able to process with other information given to you.
